The second project is called “Gladstone LNG - GLNG” and - as our first Australian LNG project (QCLNG) - is also located on Curtis Island in Queensland, Australia.
GLNG Ltd. is a joint venture between Santos, a major Australian oil and gas exploration and production company and PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia, established to process coal bed methane gas from the Surat and Browen Basin gas fields into LNG as a cleaner energy source for export mainly to the Asian market.
The detailed civil design and engineering contract with Toyo Kanetsu (KK) from Japan, who is the tank subcontractor to Bechtel U.S.A. for the two full containment LNG tanks, each with a storage capacity of 140.000 m³, also includes site supervision and execution of the pre-stressing works.
The plant is near completion and the first gas for final tests arrived on 9 March 2015. First shipment is targeted for 2nd half of 2015.
